Why I built this

I was frustrated with Chrome extensions that required accounts, synced data to servers I didn't control, and asked for permissions they didn't need. The tools I wanted — a proper command palette, a workspace manager, a smart form filler — either didn't exist or came with privacy trade-offs I wasn't comfortable making.

So I built them myself. Every LocalExt extension is designed with one rule: your data stays on your device. No exceptions.

The philosophy

Local-first means the extension works entirely offline, stores nothing on external servers, and gives you full control over your data. You can export everything as JSON anytime. You can inspect the code. You can uninstall without worrying about what happens to your data.

This isn't a compromise — it's a deliberate choice. Local-first tools are faster, more private, and more reliable than cloud-dependent alternatives.
